JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for general facility maintenance and effectively maintaining a wide variety of warehouse distribution equipment (conveyors, picking robots, wrappers, case erectors, material handling and packaging equipment) in a modern 850,000 sq. ft. distribution center (DC) focusing on safety, equipment reliability and continuous improvement. Technician will maintain distribution equipment (mechanical and electrical) by performing preventive maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting, conducting repairs and supporting capital investment projects.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You will perform mechanical and electrical repairs on warehouse distribution equipment (varies types of conveyors, picking robots, stretch wrappers, case erectors, scanners, material handling and packaging equipment).
- You will perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and diagnostics tasks on warehouse distribution equipment as directed by the Supervisor.
- You will obtain and maintain a power industrial truck (PIT) license to be able safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, cherry pickers, and turret trucks.
- You will perform general facility and building maintenance including, but not limited to the following: plumbing, lighting, drywall repairs, painting, and basic HVAC maintenance.
- You will be working at heights up to 35-40 feet.
- You will help serve as a liaison with effective communication (written and oral) between leadership and team members.
- You will be evaluating the use of various resources and making knowledgeable decisions regarding safety and company standards and policies.
- You will be assisting in providing on-the-job training for employees.
- You will be leading by example, approachable, and follow through on commitments.
- You will adhere to company policies and procedures and provide feedback to Supervisor when inconsistencies are observed.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are qualified with a high school diploma or GED required; associates degree, technical training and/or certifications preferred.
- You are qualified with 2+ years of maintenance experience in a DC or industrial environment; 5+ years preferred.
- You are qualified with proven mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools.
- You are qualified with electrical knowledge (AC and DC); use of multimeter as diagnostic tool, effectively troubleshoot low voltage devices/systems, motor controls including Allen-Bradley VFDs, and experience working with120V up to 480V 3-phase.
- You are qualified with previous experience with conveyor maintenance.
- You are qualified with a sound understanding of safety principles and procedures including lockout tagout.
- You are self-motivated and ability to work in a low supervision environment.
- You are proficient with computers, including email and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- You are willing to work overtime during peak seasons.

The hourly rate for this position may vary based on geographic location. Pay is based on several factors including knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, including a full range of benefits.
