Position: Physician – Gastroenterology (Locums)

Setting: Inpatient (GI Lab + Weekend Call)

Practice Details:

• Coverage Need: Extra volume support – opposite a locum already scheduled

• Target Dates:

  • November 22–28, 2025

  • January – June 2026: Either 2nd or 4th week of every month (candidates must commit to specific weeks)

• Schedule:

  • M–F (GI Lab): 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Sat/Sun: Inpatient call + consults

• Call Responsibilities:

  • 24/7 General GI + ERCP (inpatient + outpatient)

  • Weeknights: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM

  • Weekends: Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM

• Patient Volume:

  • 15–20 inpatient census going into weekend

  • 5–7 procedures on weekends

• Procedures: General GI + ERCP required (EUS preferred but not required)

• Support Staff: GI lab staff, MAs, RNs, APPs (weekday + some weekends)

• Trauma Level: III

• Other Notes: 303 staffed beds; Anesthesia not always available in GI lab (Mon–Fri 8a–3p). If not sedation capable, must use OR queue.

Requirements:

• Certifications:

  • Board Certified – Gastroenterology (required)

  • ACLS + BLS (required)

  • Conscious sedation (preferred)

• Licensure: IMLC accepted; strongly prefer already licensed in PA

• Commitment: Minimum 1 week per month

• Hospital Privileging: 45–60 days (clean files); any malpractice/legal history requires review

Travel & Housing:

• Covered for providers outside 50-mile radius
