About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to be part of the core banking modernization efforts for Enterprise Product and Pricing Management (EPPM). This position will lead/manage/support Rates Modernization development by building highly scalable, resilient applications. The ideal candidate will be part of the engineering leadership team and partner with business/technical product managers, systems architects, and engineers. This position will play a key role in managing/supporting all technology risk remediation/management tasks and focus on modernization transformation activities including leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Candidate will also be responsible to ensure technology solutions implemented adheres to Wells Fargo enterprise policies and standards including documentation of items such as Security Plans, Service Level Agreements, and general system documentation.
In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence platform support solutions for highly complex business and technical needs or technology initiatives
Lead highly complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams related to large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional areas
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Provide training and mentoring to less experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards

Hands on oversight of development, unit testing and building high quality solutions that is simple, scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable
Participate in all phases of the SDLC including documentation, code reviews, research, and support
Champions continuous improvements in the organization and ensures the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed
Ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met
Ensure effective Production systems monitoring, alarming and notification response/maintenance
Work with Agile/Scrum teams, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
6+ years of experience in Java (Java 17), Spring Boot, and JPA for backend development
5+ years of experience designing and delivering Microservices and REST/SOAP APIs using XML/JSON
5+ years of experience building responsive UIs with React and developing backend services with Node.js
5+ years of hands-on experience in OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes for cloud-native deployments
5+ years of experience with GitHub, including implementing Git workflows, enforcing code quality and security through GitHub actions and integrations
5+ years of experience working with observability and monitoring tools like Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Splunk
Desired Qualifications:
4+ years of CI/CD pipeline development, with hands-on expertise in Designing and maintaining automated build, test, and deployment pipelines with tools like Maven, Karate, and SonarQube for quality gates
3+ years of experience with Harness building and managing deployment pipelines for microservices
Knowledge and understanding of cloud readiness/cloud design principles for Java/Spring applications
Experience or familiarity with Apigee or API Management tools
Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, TrueSight
Experience with Kafka and PubSub patterns tools
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
