Join our Maternal Fetal Medicine team as a Lead Nurse Navigator! This role will provide leadership and advanced coordination for Maternal Fetal Medicine services, focusing on high-risk pregnant patients with maternal conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and other complex needs. In addition to the core responsibilities of a Nurse Navigator, the individual in this role will hold lead, mentor and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The Lead Nurse Navigator is an opportunity for leadership development within patient navigation. The Lead Nurse Navigator will work exclusively work at our Maternal Fetal Medicines sites, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and work directly with the management team to support the overall nursing team and department. The nursing team performs non-stress tests (NSTs), electronic fetal monitoring, high acuity patient navigation for both chronic maternal conditions and fetal conditions, and assistance with procedures. This position serves as a resource for other associates with responsibility for communication, scheduling/vacation time, coaching/mentoring, and team orientation. The individual in this role does not hire, fire, discipline, promote, demote, transfer, or appraise, but may be consulted by higher management in these areas.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Patient Care

Communicates pertinent information and/or emergency information according to policies and procedures

Able to effectively communicate to client without judgment or coercion

Protects clients' health information for confidentiality, authorized access for treatment, and data security.

Records and documents to electronic medical record.

Exhibiting a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise, explains care to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.

Administration/Leadership

Demonstrates effective leadership through communication with department staff, physicians, and internal/external customers. Assumes accountability for decisions and actions and maintains professional manner when faced with a difficult situation. Recognizes, assesses, acts and relays appropriate information regarding department issues.

Assists with development and oversight of internal clinic guidelines and procedures in conjunction with managers and physicians.

Oversight of Quality Control/Performance Improvement Goals and Development.

Promotes teamwork, service excellence, and patient centered care

Attend all scheduled meetings

Serve on committees at the designation of the manager.

With manager - oversees orientation and training for nursing team

Other

Is familiar with infection control, safety and emergency/disaster procedures and HIPAA as detailed in the Policies and Procedures Manual

Participates in monthly staff meetings, in-service training, and other functions where staff is needed throughout the year

Able to use and understand the computer to document and review information in and out of the counseling room

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: Nursing

Additional Job Description:

Required:

  • Ohio RN License
  • Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 5 years RN experience

Highly Desirable:

  • EFM certification preferred.
  • Experience with nonstress test (NST) highly desirable.
  • Women's Health experience (OB office and/or L&D preferred)
