Project Engineer

 

We’re seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Project Engineer to support plant operations and lead strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Plant General Manager, this role provides cross-functional engineering expertise to optimize production, packaging, and maintenance processes. You’ll manage capital projects, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, design, procurement, and commissioning
  • Collaborate with corporate engineering to define project scopes and assess feasibility
  • Oversee contractor activities and ensure timely execution of plant-based projects
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate new processes and equipment installations
  • Provide daily support to the Maintenance Department and assist in managing personnel and resources
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • Support strategic planning aligned with plant goals
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and reporting requirements
  • Maintain and improve quality system documentation; act as management representative for quality initiatives
  • Implement and verify corrective actions to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
  • Serve as a technical liaison across departments and with external contractors
  • Promote a culture of safety and lead by example in all plant activities
  • Foster strong relationships with peers, suppliers, and auditors

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in PC and network-based applications
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
  • High energy, team-oriented, and adaptable to diverse personalities
