The Undergraduate Student Project Assistant will aid in banned book advocacy efforts, undergraduate networking, and student project development as part of the Unite to Read Project and in connection with CS 4021 (Banned Books and the Cost of Censorship). Regular duties will include:
- Assist project faculty and project manager in tasks such as book resume development, book club materials, book club facilitation
- Assist in CS 4021 to facilitate student group work on reader advocacy projects
- Assist in planning and facilitating in-person and virtual events related to CS 4021 and URP
Desired knowledge and skills:
- Proficiency with word processing, basic design tools, and video conferencing
- Strong writing and research skills
- Interest and background in a range of literary texts
- Foundational knowledge of current censorship issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees.Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment.Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role.Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
