DLR Group's Audiovisual Systems Design team is growing. We're searching for an Intermediate Audiovisual Designer to join us in one of the following studios: Charlotte Chicago Cleveland Columbus Los Angeles New York City Phoenix Portland Seattle Washington, DC Position Summary As an Audiovisual Designer at DLR Group you will be responsible for applying your audiovisual design skills in the realization of award-winning design projects. As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. Along with traditional architecture and engineering design services, DLR Group provides innovative and integrated Audiovisual Design solutions for music and drama spaces, cultural arts facilities, museums, institutional buildings, lecture halls, meeting rooms, courtrooms, and other technology-centric environments. What you will do: Create compelling graphic communications that clearly convey complex conceptual design ideas to clients and colleagues Design, develop, and document a variety of project types across different phases Support design projects with strong design thinking, high-quality imagery, thorough design research, and detailed project documentation Demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Collaborate effectively in a team setting while also managing tasks independently in a creative environment Produce high-quality graphic communications such as plan drawings, details, sketches, system diagrams, riser details, and other visuals to convey audiovisual systems design intent Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in audiovisual systems design, including room automation, digital signage, performance audio systems, cinema (digital and 35mm), classroom and conference room systems, building-wide AV signal distribution, and recording and broadcast systems Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Music Technology, Sound/Projection Design, or a related engineering or AV technology field Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Intermediate-level skills and demonstrated experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign Proficiency in computer modeling and rendering software Preferred Qualifications: A basic understanding of building systems and construction techniques Active involvement and recognition in the national professional AV community, with extensive knowledge of current AV standards and practices CTS or CTS-D certification highly preferred LEED AP and proficiency in sustainable building design a plus #LI-MIS DLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.
