EMR is currently hiring a Senior Purchasing Manager. This person will be responsible for optimizing procurement strategies, sourcing cost-effective materials, and managing key supplier relationships. Youll play a critical role in identifying lower-cost alternatives without compromising quality, driving purchasing efficiency across our operations. The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to make smart, fast decisions in a dynamic environment. This role is worked 100% in the office in Camden, NJ. There is no opportunity for the role going remote or hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans focused on cost savings and process efficiency
Source and qualify lower-cost goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize value
Lead supplier performance reviews and resolve any delivery, quality, or compliance issues
Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs through market trend analysis and supplier diversification
Support plant-level purchasing for high-volume operational needs; ensure timely availability of critical supplies
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Inventory, and Quality Control teams
Implement inventory control strategies to reduce carrying costs and avoid stockouts
Leverage procurement software and technology to streamline purchasing workflows
Manage procurement budgets, monitor spend, and report on cost-saving initiatives
Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, standards, and internal policies
Travel occasionally to vendor sites and operational locations as needed within the Eastern Region (NJ, PA, DE)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business , Supply Chain Management, or a related field
710 years of progressive experience in purchasing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
Demonstrated ability to source lower-cost alternatives without sacrificing quality
Strong background in plant or industrial purchasing (blue-collar or manufacturing environment preferred)
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to think strategically while executing tactically
Experience with procurement tools and ERP systems
High sense of urgency and ability to make sound decisions quickly
Strong communication and leadership skills
Work Environment & Requirements:
Position is based in our Camden, NJ office
May require occasional evening or weekend work based on operational needs
Occasional travel and use of a personal vehicle may be required
Ability to lift and carry light materials as needed in office or warehouse settings
Annual Salary: $140 - $150k/yr
