Cathcart Group is the parent company of Cathcart Development, Cathcart Construction, Cathcart Property Management and Cathcart Senior Living. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Cathcart was founded by Rip Cathcart in 1984, and was formerly named, Cathcart Properties. The Company name changed in 2010 and was part of a new focus – “As we’ve planned for the future, we have honed our organizational direction with a vision for the new era” said Todd Dofflemyer, CEO of Cathcart Group.

In the early years, Cathcart Group focused on the acquisition of small residential properties, such as duplexes, townhouses, and single-family homes. In 1992 Cathcart Group made the quantum leap into large-scale residential development by developing the 348-unit Lakeside Apartments. The project redefined luxury rentals in Charlottesville, VA. To date, the company has developed more than 2,000 luxury apartment homes and assisted living facilities. Cathcart Group is primarily focused on developing land, luxury apartments, senior living facilities, condominiums, and townhomes.

Founded in 2007, Cathcart Construction, LLC has grown into a provider of both pre-construction and construction services, with a specific focus on multifamily construction.

Leveraging our multifamily construction and development experiences, Cathcart Construction has developed a reputation for consistently delivering quality projects that meet our client’s specific expectations by providing oversight of the design and budgeting process from concept to completion. Additionally, the principals of Cathcart Construction not only represent the senior management of the company, they maintain an active, hand-on role in each of our projects, further affirming our commitment to the successful completion of each of our client’s projects.
