Barrio Action Youth and Family Center (Barrio Action) has provided individual, family and community services in the El Sereno, Lincoln Heights, Ramona Gardens and Northeast Los Angeles communities for more than 40 years. Our mission is to address the socio-economic conditions impacting low-income families living in the Northeast communities. We have grown from a neighborhood center advocating for the educational needs of a largely immigrant, monolingual population, into a regional location for educational recreational/social, legal and health services for a large segment of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. The FSC program is funded by the City of Los Angeles as part of its signature anti-poverty efforts. The FSCs are one-stop centers that provide a continuum of services designed to assist low-income families to increase their income and academic achievement as a pathway out of poverty.
