Campbell Oil Company was founded in 1948 (70 Years ago) by Mac Campbell, Sr. The company started with (1) Full-Service Gas Station and has now grown into a Business that employs more than 850 people that we consider part of our extended family. Mac, Sr. was a hard-working, humble, Christian man that believed in treating everyone with dignity and respect. He also was an avid pilot for more than 35 years and was also the first man drafted in North Carolina into World War II.
In 1968, Mac, Sr.’s son Mac, Jr. started in the business working side by side with his father as the business continued to expand its product offerings. In 1979, Campbell Oil continued its expansion by acquiring land for its first Convenience Store which has now grown into a 44 store chain operated under the name of Minuteman Food Marts. These stores are branded under a franchise agreement with BP, Marathon, Shell and Sunoco. In August of 1981 our founder Mr. Mac, Sr. died and the business continued under the direction of Mac Campbell, Jr. In 1990, two of Mac, Jr’s sons (Brian & Chris) started in the business which began the 3rd generation of Campbell’s involved in the business. Later in 1998 the youngest son Wesley started in the business as well. The 4th generation is now of age to work in the business and the company is excited that the legacy started by Mac Sr. will continue to the 4th generation and beyond as we execute our Long Range Strategic Plans for growing the business.

Campbell Oil’s current business model includes our Retail Division and Whole:
• Wholesale Fuels and Lubricants
• Minuteman Food Mart
• Campbell Restaruant Group
• GM Pizza

Each of these Business Divisions has a Long Range Strategic Plan and we believe that this Plan will position the Company for a bright future. We will continue to execute our Strategic Plan with PASSION while serving our fellow man. In addition, we are also THANKFUL for our many dedicated and talented people that we get to work with each and every day that help make all that we do as a Company possible.
