Join the Kitties and Kanines Veterinary Clinic Team
In 2007, a group of concerned individuals formed the 501 (c) (3) called River Valley Animal Welfare Coalition, now called Friends of Kitties & Kanines, out of the concern for pet overpopulation in the River Valley community. This group saw the need to stop the cycle of the millions of unwanted births and euthanasia of cats and dogs in the community. They realized that the main reason people do not spay/neuter their pets is due to the high cost or having no access to spay/neuter services. Friends of Kitties & Kanines works to fund Kitties & Kanines Veterinary Clinic to provide the community with high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services, as well as vaccinations and microchipping. This would only be possible through the generous grants, fundraisers and donations from the community.
Thanks to Friends of Kitties & Kanines' partnership with the Humane Alliance in Asheville, North Carolina, an organization that mentors to over one hundred organizations in opening and operating high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, Kitties & Kanines opened in 2007 and became the first clinic of its kind in the state of Arkansas. The clinic is proud to have our veterinarians receive extra training at the Humane Alliance and provide the River Valley community with a clinic that has a state-of-the-art surgery center and the latest equipment. Since opening, Kitties & Kanines Veterinary Clinic has performed over 45,000 spay/neuter surgeries, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats and dogs from being born into abuse, neglect and euthanasia.
