Our workforce development program is the largest in Florida, helping thousands of students prepare for high-demand careers each year. We also have built the state's largest online learning program, military education program and information technology curriculum. The size and quality of our education programs produce significant economic impact for the region. Employers depend on us to deliver the highly skilled employees they need to compete and grow in the future. The impact of our College extends beyond student success and economic growth - to the arts and culture in our community. Through the Artist Series, honored by the State of Florida as a "Major Cultural Institution," we bring top-rated Broadway productions, concerts and cultural performances to Jacksonville each year. Our Community The median age of students in college credit programs is 27.4 years old and the median age of students participating in continuing education programs is 39. The majority of FSCJ students are enrolled in associate degree or workforce certification programs. The balance of the student population is pursuing a bachelor degree or enrolled in high school completion or basic education programs. Our diverse student body closely mirrors the diversity found in Northeast Florida. Our programs attract students from 120 countries around the world and these students contribute to the rich diversity of the FSCJ collegiate experience. Among the nearly 7,500 students receiving their degrees and certificates for the 2013-2014 academic year are: · 364 students with the Bachelor of Applied Science degree · 279 with the Bachelor of Science degree · 4,087 with the Associate in Arts degree · 1,080 with the Associate in Science degree · 61 with the Associate in Applied Science degree · 1,249 with Technical and Advanced Technical certificates · 542 with a workforce certificate In academic year 2013-2014, FSCJ employed 389 full-time faculty and 805 adjunct (part-time) faculty. Of these faculty members, 22 percent hold a doctoral degree, 56 percent hold a master's degree, and 22 percent hold a bachelor's degree or other industry-related credential. Including faculty, FSCJ has more than 2,800 employees serving our students.
