Join the San Miguel Produce, Inc. Team
Established in 1975, as growers/shippers of fresh vegetables, the founders of San Miguel Produce, Inc. have been farming for three generations. San Miguel Produce, named after one of the Channel Islands off the Oxnard coast, began as a vertically integrated company managing/performing all growing, harvesting, cooling, shipping and selling functions from Oxnard, CA.
By 1995, the produce industry was changing and evolving into more nationally consolidation companies. San Miguel decided to pursue niche market opportunities and repositioned itself to create a new value-added “cooking greens” program under the brand Cut ‘n Clean Greens. The company began to grow, process, and market quality fresh cooking greens, consisting of a selective group of crops including collard, turnip, curly mustard, flat mustard, kale, spinach, red and green chard and other related leafy cooking vegetables. Cut ‘n Clean Greens became the first fresh packaged cooking greens in North America.
By 2008, Cut ‘n Clean Greens, had grown into 14 diverse varieties, including organics. San Miguel Produce has become well known at the leading grower and processor of fresh, cooking greens in the US. And, over the years, the company has created special processes and technologies to provide naturally fresh, packaged cooking greens that have set the standard for the industry.
In 2010, our line of Jade Asian Greens was launched as the first ready-to-use line of Asian greens; and in 2012, SUPERGreens salads was launched as the first nutrient-dense ready-to-use salad greens.
2016 marked San Miguel Produce’s 40th anniversary. We are proud of our heritage, the value and good health we provide to our customers and, the opportunities we provide to our employees as we continue to grow. Together, we look forward to the next forty years!
