Job Overview

We are seeking a Dental Laboratory Technician Instructor to provide hands-on vocational training in a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental laboratory procedures and a passion for teaching and mentoring individuals in developing valuable career skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in dental laboratory techniques, including impressions, model fabrication, waxing, casting, finishing, and dental appliance production.
• Demonstrate proper use of dental laboratory tools, equipment, and materials.
• Supervise and guide participants during hands-on training activities.
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and inventory.
• Enforce safety, infection control, and OSHA standards.
• Track participant progress and maintain training documentation.
• Promote professionalism, teamwork, and workplace readiness skills.
• Collaborate with correctional staff and program supervisors to support program goals.

Qualifications Required

• 3+ years of Dental Laboratory Technician experience.
• Knowledge of dental materials, laboratory equipment, and fabrication processes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to train and mentor individuals with varying skill levels.
• Ability to work effectively in a correctional facility environment.

Preferred

• Certified Dental Technician (CDT) credential.
• Experience in vocational training, adult education, or workforce development.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems, digital scanning, or 3D printing.
• Experience working in a structured or secure environment.
