General Surgery Locums Job in Indiana

Details/Requirements:
GS Cases: Basic cases for on call - Gallbladder, appendectomy, bowel obstruction
Procedures: Trauma- limited, no robotics, no scopes, no c-section
Limited Trauma call, all major traumas shipped out
Average surgical volume per week: 7 cases per physician
Consults during call coverage: 2 per day

Schedule and Call:
24-hour call, 7am-7am
Call expectations: In house consults, limited call backs
Call is not shared - locums takes call independently (attending physician available for Bariatric consults)

Facility Setup + Support:
Facility/location: Rural
Not a designated Trauma center
5 ORs available and Block time for emergent cases
Limited surgical and anesthesia support on weekends
Average OR turnaround time: 30 minutes
Post-op complications directed to the office
Support staff: two General Surgeons on staff and Hospitalist team on-site
Locums will be practicing independently
