This role is intended for senior, hands-on professionals who take ownership of results, maintain high standards, and lead through action. While the positions are field-forward, they do include necessary desk-based responsibilities such as planning, coordination, documentation, and communication.

The maintenance operation is lean and efficient, requiring leaders who are comfortable wearing multiple hats and working closely with a small support team.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily maintenance operations for an occupied 324-unit residential property
  • Personally diagnose and resolve maintenance issues as needed
  • Oversee and actively participate in apartment turnovers (make-readies), ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Manage preventative maintenance programs and routine property inspections
  • Handle resident service requests promptly, professionally, and thoroughly
  • Perform required desk-based functions, including:
    • Work order review and prioritization
    • Vendor coordination
    • Documentation and reporting
  • Coordinate vendors and confirm quality, safety, and completion of work
  • Maintain oversight of tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory
  • Identify issues proactively and implement solutions without waiting for direction

Required Experience & Technical Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or multifamily maintenance
  • Strong, hands-on expertise in:
    • Plumbing
    • Carpentry
    • General building systems and repairs
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in residential or multifamily environments
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and execute independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, resident-occupied setting with a small team
