Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor
Position Summary: The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of food service. Kitchen supervisor is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas and supports the camp’s mission by fostering a Christ-entered environment in the kitchen providing a kind but firm direction to specialty staff. Kitchen supervisor is not required to live on site for the summer. Meals to be served Sunday dinner through Friday lunch weekly. All staff have July 4 -12th (noon to noon) off for mid summer break.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversight of Kitchen Operations
2. Supervision of Specialty Staff in the Kitchen
3. Team Support & Collaboration
4. Spiritual Leadership & Service
Qualifications:
• Strong Christian faith and commitment to the mission & values of camp
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous kitchen management experience required
• Ability to work and lead others in a fast-paced environment
• Current Serv Safe Manager Certification required
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in a hot, busy kitchen for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and handle kitchen equipment
• Ability to stand, bend, and move quickly as needed during meal preparation and service
Reports to: Program Director
Position Type: Seasonal (Summer Camp)
Due to the nature of camp life, it is understood that daily work hours will be irregular. Camp life often requires work beyond the usual 40 hour/5 days a week routine. It will be necessary to work some weekends, including Sundays.
