Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal

NST Injury Law is a nationally recognized personal injury firm, proudly rooted in Memphis, Tennessee. Guided by our six pillars — compassionate care, accessibility, resourcefulness, trust & transparency, personalized service, and maximized pursuit — we deliver elite legal representation while remaining deeply committed to the communities we serve.

Our continued growth is intentional. We scale with discipline, invest in systems, and build teams that operate with excellence and heart. We are seeking a Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team at our Nashville location and support the progression of complex, medically intensive cases.

The Opportunity

As a Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal, you will work directly with our litigation attorneys to move cases strategically from pre-suit through resolution or trial. These cases require precision, deep attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex medical and legal components simultaneously.

Your work will help ensure that each case is meticulously prepared, statutory requirements are met, expert coordination is seamless, and attorneys are positioned to advocate for our clients at the highest level.

What You Will Own

Medical Malpractice Case Progression

  • Manage a structured litigation caseload under attorney supervision from pre-suit through trial or resolution.
  • Coordinate and track Tennessee pre-suit notice requirements.
  • Assist in preparation and filing of Certificates of Good Faith.
  • Maintain litigation calendars and ensure strict compliance with Tennessee Health Care Liability Act (HCLA) deadlines.
  • Track and coordinate key milestones including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.

Medical Record Analysis & Evidence Development

  • Organize and analyze extensive medical records across multiple providers.
  • Develop medical chronologies and treatment timelines.
  • Identify gaps in care, inconsistencies, and potential deviations in standard of care.
  • Prepare records and supporting documentation for expert review and litigation strategy.

Expert Coordination & Case Development

  • Coordinate with medical experts and nurse consultants.
  • Prepare and manage expert review packets, reports, and affidavits.
  • Track expert deadlines and maintain organized expert-related documentation.
  • Assist attorneys in developing liability and causation narratives.

Discovery Management & Litigation Support

  • Draft, serve, and track written discovery.
  • Coordinate with clients and attorneys to prepare accurate and timely responses.
  • Organize medical and evidentiary materials for production.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, mediation, and litigation proceedings.

Depositions, Mediation & Trial Preparation

  • Coordinate depositions, including medical provider and expert depositions.
  • Prepare deposition summaries and organize medical exhibits.
  • Assist with mediation preparation and trial materials, including exhibit lists and trial notebooks.

Court Filings & Procedural Compliance

  • Prepare and file pleadings and motions in accordance with court rules.
  • Maintain accurate docket tracking and deadline management.
  • Ensure compliance with all procedural and statutory requirements.

Case Management System Discipline

  • Maintain accurate documentation and case status updates within the firm’s case management platform.
  • Ensure all litigation activity is properly tracked, documented, and aligned with firm workflows.

Who Thrives in This Role

  • A proactive litigation professional who anticipates deadlines and next steps.
  • A systems-oriented individual who values structure, accountability, and operational discipline.
  • A detail-driven professional who can synthesize large volumes of medical information into actionable insights.
  • A collaborative team member who works closely with attorneys, experts, and staff to advance complex cases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certification preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of litigation experience required; medical malpractice or healthcare litigation strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tennessee Health Care Liability Act (HCLA) and pre-suit requirements preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and record analysis.
  • Experience working within a legal case management system.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and written communication abilities.

If you thrive in an environment where discipline, preparation, and client care intersect — and you want to help drive meaningful outcomes in complex litigation — we welcome the opportunity to review your application.
