A travel opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support educational settings in Columbus, OH. This role involves facilitating communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, ensuring accessibility and inclusion within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide effective communication access
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interpreting situations
• Adapt interpreting style to different educational content and student needs
• Travel to various school locations within the Columbus area as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English with a strong ability to interpret both accurately
• Previous experience in educational interpreting preferred
• Knowledge of educational terminology and classroom protocols
• Flexibility and reliability to travel between schools as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
