Dublin - Billing Clerk

Billing Clerk (Transportation/Logistics) Location: West Columbus, OH (I-70 / Hilliard-Rome Rd area) Shift: Monday - Friday, Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our growing West Columbus team. You will be the "final set of eyes" on every load we haul. Your primary responsibility is to gather delivery documentation, audit load rates, and generate accurate invoices for our customers and brokers. This role is essential to our financial health and requires someone who can move quickly without sacrificing accuracy. Key Responsibilities Invoicing: Generate and distribute a high volume of invoices daily through our Transportation Management System (TMS). Document Auditing: Verify that all Bills of Lading (BOL) and Proofs of Delivery (POD) are present, legible, and correctly uploaded. Rate Verification: Cross-reference load confirmations with dispatch software to ensure correct line-haul rates, fuel surcharges, and accessorials (detention, lumper fees, etc.) are applied. Problem Solving: Coordinate with the Dispatch and Operations teams to resolve missing paperwork or rate discrepancies before the invoice is sent. Customer Portals: Upload invoices and supporting documents into various customer-specific portals (e.g., Triumph, T-Chek, or proprietary broker sites). Scanning/Indexing: Maintain an organized digital filing system for all trip-related documents. Required Qualifications Education: High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Business or Accounting is a plus. Experience: 1+ years in a billing or heavy data-entry role. Experience in the trucking or third-party logistics (3PL) industry is highly preferred. Attention to Detail: Ability to spot a missing signature or a $1.00 rate discrepancy in a sea of paperwork. Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook and Excel). Experience with trucking software like McLeod, TMW, or QuickBooks is a major advantage. Communication: Ability to professionally follow up with drivers or customers regarding missing or unclear documentation.
