Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a practice seeking a Medical Director to lead their small animal clinic providing care for dogs and cats. This role offers an experienced veterinarian the opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities, guiding medical standards and supporting team development within a busy, community-focused practice. The position is suited to a confident veterinarian who enjoys mentoring colleagues while delivering high-quality veterinary care in a diverse and fast-paced environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The hospital is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide high-quality medical and surgical care while leading the veterinary team and setting clinical standards across the hospital. Responsibilities include performing examinations, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, conducting surgical procedures, and providing preventive care. The role also involves mentoring team members, establishing and maintaining medical protocols, collaborating with management on hospital operations and growth, and fostering a positive and supportive team culture. This position is open to experienced veterinarians who are comfortable practicing independently and leading a clinical team.

The practice is a well-established small animal clinic serving its local community and providing comprehensive veterinary care. Services offered include Pet Wellness Care, Vaccinations, Dental Care, Emergency Care, Surgery, In-House Diagnostics, Parasite Prevention, and Orthopedic services. The hospital provides a welcoming environment with clean, bright exam rooms and modern diagnostic capabilities to support high-quality veterinary medicine.

Team
The practice is supported by 5 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative environment where teamwork, mentorship, and strong client relationships are highly valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
