Position Summary

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically intoastate-of-the-artfacility.With safetyat the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®,Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®.Our factoryalsodoesitspart for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity,maintainingzero waste for disposaland more.This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta-an area thatnearly6million residentsand many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's stronglogistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.

As a Controls Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control's data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. In this role, you will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment, and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.

  • Configure, program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
  • Perform preventive maintenance for controls and organize electrical/control parts inventory
  • Provide electrical and programming support on plant capital projects
  • Implement control systems software upgrade
  • Provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to plant maintenance staff
  • Assist with training of maintenance personnel

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND 3+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and Electrical/ hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI-systems

OR

  • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline AND 1+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and Electrical/ hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI-systems

The approximate yearly pay range for this position is $70,000 - $97,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
