This forensic inpatient psychiatric unit operates as a burgeoning reception center serving individuals transferred from county jail facilities. The facility features a large campus requiring extensive walking both indoors and outdoors with limited parking access and multiple levels requiring stair navigation. The center provides specialized psychiatric care within the correctional system for incoming incarcerated individuals requiring forensic evaluation and treatment.

This region offers diverse recreational opportunities including outdoor activities, waterfront attractions, and educational venues. The area features year-round activities ranging from outdoor recreation to cultural attractions, with parks and entertainment venues serving the community. The clinician will work in a variety of settings including infirmary, reception, and intensive care programming with the severely mentally ill population in a correctional environment. Daily responsibilities include completing psychiatric evaluations, competency assessments, and 2PC evaluations for individuals transferred from county jail facilities. The role requires adherence to both DOCCS and OMH regulatory requirements while maintaining independent operation with limited support staff assistance. The position demands computer proficiency and Microsoft Word expertise for accurate documentation and completion of statutorily required assessments.
