Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to join its large, collaborative small animal hospital in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The practice provides comprehensive veterinary care to small animal patients and is hiring an experienced veterinarian to lead medical quality, mentor clinicians, and support the hospital's continued growth.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is open to either full-time or part-time candidates. The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, with the hospital closed on Sundays. Scheduling is flexible, with rotating Saturdays and the hospital closing early on Saturdays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee medical quality and patient care across the hospital while serving as a key member of the management team. Approximately 30% of the role is dedicated to leadership responsibilities, including setting strategic direction, mentoring doctors and staff, and partnering with hospital leadership, with the remaining 70% focused on clinical duties as a staff veterinarian. Clinical responsibilities include small animal medicine and surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, preventive care, internal medicine, and emergency and urgent care cases.

Practice Details
The hospital is a large, highly collaborative small animal practice equipped with advanced medical technology and modern facilities. Equipment includes digital radiology and dental radiology, ultrasound, EMR, cold or therapeutic lasers, acupuncture, and cryosurgery. Services offered span advanced dental care, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, intensive and emergency care, hospice and geriatric care, diagnostics, preventive and wellness services, and routine surgical procedures. The practice culture emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and high medical standards.

Team
The team consists of ten DVMs supported by a skilled and experienced support staff. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused, with a strong emphasis on leadership, teamwork, and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
