Emergency Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is an emergency and general practice animal hospital in the Hudson Valley region of New York, hiring a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join a long-established, well-equipped practice. The hospital provides comprehensive emergency and medical care for a diverse caseload including cats, dogs, pocket pets, and rabbits, and is supported by advanced technology and a highly experienced clinical team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates seven days a week from 8:00am to 8:00pm. This is a full-time position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will deliver high-quality emergency and urgent medical care within a fast-paced hospital environment. Clinical responsibilities include emergency case management, advanced diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, anesthesia, hospitalization, and intensive care. The role involves collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing clear and compassionate client communication, and contributing to a Fear Free-focused approach to patient care.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital has been serving its community since 1958 and offers both emergency and general practice services. The facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities including digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, echocardiography, EKG, Tonopen, laser surgery, cold laser therapy, rehabilitation and hydrotherapy services, in-house laboratory and pharmacy, intensive care capabilities, oxygen and transfusion therapy, isolation ward, and a fully equipped surgical suite. Services span emergency care, internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, pain management, urology, preventive care, and routine and advanced surgical procedures.

Team
The hospital is supported by a team of twelve DVMs and a great support staff. The environment is highly collaborative and mentoring-focused, with dedicated technicians and support team members who enable veterinarians to practice advanced medicine at a high standard.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
