Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a practice hiring for a Managing Veterinarian. The clinic is a small animal hospital providing routine, surgical, dental, and emergency care, along with boarding and grooming services. The role is a leadership position focused on guiding the medical, cultural, and developmental direction of the hospital.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 1:00pm. The clinic is closed on Saturday and Sunday. The position is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Managing Veterinarian will lead the medical direction of the hospital while maintaining an active clinical caseload. Responsibilities include shaping and elevating medical protocols, mentoring and developing assistants, technicians, and support staff, and partnering closely with the Practice Manager. Clinical duties focus primarily on soft tissue surgery, dentistry, routine and advanced medical care, diagnostics, and client education. The role is suited to an experienced veterinarian with a passion for leadership, collaboration, and relationship-driven care.

Practice Details
The practice has been in operation since 1971 and combines small-town community care with ongoing modernization. Facilities include three exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, a dedicated dental suite, expanded treatment areas, and an on-site boarding facility. Equipment and infrastructure include digital full-body and dental radiography, ultrasound, therapy and surgical lasers, lift tables, and comprehensive in-house diagnostics. Services offered encompass wellness and preventive medicine, diagnostics, radiology and ultrasound, soft tissue and advanced surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, laser therapy, geriatric care, nutritional counseling, pharmacy services, euthanasia, boarding, and grooming. The practice culture emphasizes education, collaboration, and compassionate, family-centered care.

Team
The team currently includes one DVM supported by a tenured, energetic, and highly engaged group of assistants, technicians, and support staff who work collaboratively in a tight-knit, upbeat environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
