Urgent Care Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Urgent Care Veterinarian. The practice is a full-service small animal hospital with a long-standing presence in the community and is seeking a veterinarian to manage complex urgent care and emergency cases. The hospital sees small animal patients and provides advanced medical and surgical care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates seven days a week from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm. This position is offered on a full-time basis and involves providing urgent care and emergency services during extended daily operating hours. After-hours emergency care is referred to an appropriate 24 hour emergency animal hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will be responsible for managing urgent and emergency cases, conducting comprehensive patient exams, diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions, performing surgical procedures, and utilizing advanced diagnostic tools. The role includes client communication, case management, collaboration with a large veterinary and support team, and maintaining high standards of medical records and patient care. This position is suited to experienced veterinarians with a strong interest in urgent and emergency medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA-accredited and operates as a modern, full-service small animal facility focused on advanced care. Equipment and capabilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing, ECG, tonometry, advanced anesthesia monitoring, and blood transfusion services. Services offered span wellness and preventive care, diagnostics, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, endocrinology, pain management, physical rehabilitation, behavior therapy, and emergency and urgent care. The practice culture emphasizes high clinical standards, collaboration, and support for managing complex caseloads.

Team
The hospital is staffed by seven DVMs, including a lead veterinarian, supported by a collaborative and experienced paraprofessional team. The environment is structured, team-oriented, and designed to support veterinarians in delivering high-level urgent and emergency care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
