Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Texas physical therapy license or compact privileges valid for Texas required to start the assignment.
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of recent clinical experience in physical therapy; experience in acute care or inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
  • Experience treating a broad range of patients including NICU, ICU, medical/surgical, orthopedics, and inpatient rehab preferred.
  • Comfort with evaluations and treatment planning for both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation populations.
  • Proficiency with common acute and rehab equipment and with Meditech or similar EMR systems preferred.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Willingness to float between acute care and inpatient rehab units as needed.

  • Patient volumes: Hospital average daily census approximately 230280; inpatient rehab unit 24 beds.
  • Typical caseload: Approximately 78 evaluations per therapist in acute care and 45 patients on the inpatient rehab unit.
  • Team composition: Mixed team of PTs and PTAs; multiple full-time PTs and PTAs on staff.
