Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Emergency Veterinarian. This is a busy emergency and critical care hospital providing emergency services 365 days a year and is seeking an experienced emergency clinician to support the continued growth of the emergency medicine service while delivering high-quality patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital provides emergency coverage year-round. Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:00 am-7:00 am and 5:00 pm-12:00 am, with 24-hour coverage Friday through Sunday. The role is available on a full-time or part-time offering flexibility depending on availability.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is open to experienced veterinarians only, ideally with a strong background in emergency medicine. Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive emergency patient examinations, diagnostics, medical and surgical treatment, client communication, accurate medical record keeping, and pharmacy responsibilities in accordance with controlled substance regulations. The Emergency Veterinarian will manage urgent and critical cases, collaborate closely with the hospital team to ensure efficient patient care, and maintain high standards of clinical practice in a fast-paced environment.

Practice Details
The hospital operates as a dedicated emergency and critical care practice, delivering urgent and life-saving care to companion animals throughout the year. Services include emergency medicine, critical care, diagnostics, and surgery, with surgical competency required but orthopedic procedures not mandatory. The practice is described as busy, organized, and efficient, with a strong operational structure and a team deeply invested in emergency medicine. Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
