Description:

Concern Housing is seeking a Facilities Custodian to be responsible for the routine, general cleaning of the building and renovation/ repair of the individual apartments in the building.

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8am-4pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and maintain offices, hallways, stairways, lobby, lounge areas, conference rooms, exercise rooms, apartments, and other common areas
    • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout the building
    • Dust furniture, windowsills, blinds, countertops, baseboards, and other surfaces
    • Empty trash and wastebaskets in offices, bathrooms, apartments, and common areas
    • Clean and sanitize bathrooms including fixtures, counters, mirrors, walls, and floors
    • Ensure bathrooms are adequately stocked with supplies
    • Clean and maintain exercise equipment
    • Maintain exterior cleanliness of the property including walkways, patios, and grounds by removing debris as needed
    • Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas and apply snow melt when required
    • Perform minor maintenance repairs including changing light bulbs and filters
    • Notify management of major repair needs or safety concerns
    • Follow proper procedures for use of cleaning chemicals and pest control products in compliance with regulations
    • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
    • Set up and break down tables, chairs, ladders, decorations, and equipment for meetings or events
    • Assist with furniture moving and unit preparation as needed
    • Assist with cleanup of areas impacted by resident-related damage when required
    • Periodic Deep Cleaning
    • Wash interior and exterior windows as assigned
    • Remove marks from walls and doors
    • Deep clean bathrooms including floors, walls, and fixtures
    • Clean or shampoo carpets and upholstery

Requirements: High School Diploma (preferred) plus 6 months or more related experience (preferred). Must have a valid drivers license. Good communication and interpersonal skills a must, as well as good client/customer service skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team. Basic knowledge of cleaning products is required. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds utilizes a team lift.
