Full - Charge Bookkeeper / Benefits Administator

POSITION SUMMARY

Full charge bookkeeping, including day-to-day responsibility for AP, AR, receipt entry, credit card and bank account reconciliations, inventory reconciliation and adjustments, merchant service accounts, employee reimbursements, creating detailed invoices for monthly recurring and time and materials services, following up with past due invoices, and other tasks for SMC.

The role also includes preparing accurate, timely financial reports and analyzing EBITA to provide insights into operational performance and profitability. RESPONSIBILITIES

ACCOUNTING

• Prepare monthly P&L and BS reports and year to year comparisons. Prepare monthly Cash Flow statements and monitor the financial “health” of the company through managing the bank accounts and expenses.
• File monthly use and excise tax and B&O tax returns with Washington State Department of Revenue. File Quarterly B&O Taxes with City of Bellevue.
• Manage business insurance policies (i.e., building insurance, extensions of L&I insurance, etc.)
• Maintain company asset records and record changes to fixed assets and demo/rental pool assets separately.
• Run payroll bi-weekly and submit through QuickBooks, to include set-up or changes to EFTPS.
• Invoice customers for repair work done on-site and process payments.
• Maintain company compliance annually for PCI (credit card processing) with Security Metrics.
• Create and document new internal accounting policies, maintain and update existing policies and keep up with financial policies, regulation, and legislation.
• Keep information confidential and secure. Manage all digital and paper records.
• Prepare and present reports quarterly for senior management to review any accounting discrepancies or concerns, in addition to providing financial updates for the business.
• Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules to provide outsourced Accountant with appropriate reports/information for our Federal Taxes and fixed assets, four times a year.

SKILLS NEEDED

• Expert knowledge of A/R, A/P, payroll, and basic accounting principles.
• Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly tax filings (including state and city B & O tax returns),
• Perform monthly and/or quarterly closings and track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules.
• Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks desktop and MS Office Suite.
• Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage accounting functions on time and efficiently.
• Set and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Know how to solve problems independently and professionally, seeking help when uncertain. 
• Work well with others and interact positively with team members.

SCHEDULE AND PAY:

• 8-hour shifts
• Day shift from 6:30am - 3:30pm 
• Monday to Friday
• Exempt, Salaried
• Pay Range: $65,000 - $69,000
