SUMMARY

The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles, and repairs structures, formwork, and fixtures of wood, metal forms, and associated accessories.

JOB DUTIES

• Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OSHA standards
• Read and interpret drawings
• Cut and shape materials, and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue
• Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and meet required specifications
• Build and assemble concrete forms
• Build and assemble shelters for welding and other weather sensitive work
• Attend required safety and toolbox meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• One to four years of experience as an Apprentice or Journeyman Carpenter
• Ability to complete work accurately and follow all safety procedures
• Familiarity with hand and power tools
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Organized and self-motivated

Pre-employment drug testing, alcohol screening, and background check are required as a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements

• Must comply with company drug and alcohol policy
• Ability to pass physical examination as required
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and maintain balance
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at elevated heights or in confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with assistance recommended for heavier items
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Ability to work on uneven surfaces such as dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, or gravel

Work Environment

• Work is performed at an active construction jobsite in Sherman, Texas
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain
