Help
Installs, modifies connects, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs overhead and underground primary electrical
distribution systems and street lighting equipment.
Works alone on hot wires not to exceed 480 volts and as required, higher voltage if under immedie qualified
supervision.
Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots (traces and loces defects), loads, and tests new and existing electrical
lines, circuits, systems fixtures, controls and equipment.
Determines, installs and repairs building wiring, switches, relay boxes, circuit breakers, etc., in the size, type and
arrangement needed for proper and safe operion.
Loces and diagnosis trouble and determines extent of repairs necessary; plans and lays-out the routing,
placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity and proper safe operion of electrical lines, circuits,
systems equipment and controls.
Must possess a valid ste commercial driver's license (CDL) with class B endorsement.

Qualificions
To qualify for a High Voltage Electrician your resume and supporting documention must support:
Applicants red in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualificion Standard for Trades and Labor Occupions. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training th you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) elimined from further competition.
The SOE and minimum qualificions for this position is:
Ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as basic knowledge of the high voltage electrical trade
Selective Placement Factor: Incumbent must possess a valid ste commercial driver's license (CDL) with class B endorsement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience th transles directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To be found well-qualified as an ICTAP applicant, individuals need to demonstre the ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled as well as more complex duties such as installing, modifying, connecting, inspecting, troubleshooting and/or repairing overhead and underground primary high voltage electrical distribution lines serving a military installion.
Physical Effort
Works aloft on poles, ground level and in ground trenches or manholes requiring moderely heavy physical effort. Required to bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods. Coordinion of eyes, hands, legs and body needed for installing, repairing and testing electrical equipment in confined spaces. Frequently handles tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 20 pounds, sometimes heavier.
Working Conditions
Works outside in close proximity to high voltage line and equipment and is subject to extreme weher conditions. Occasionally performs work inside. Extensive pole climbing required for overhead work; some work is performed in underground facilities. Subject to injury by contact with high voltage lines, broken bones in falls from poles, and strains from awkward positions. Exposed to possibility of electrical shock and burns; when handling tools and merials, exposed to cuts and bruises.

To qualify for a High Voltage Electrician your resume and supporting documention must support:

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training th you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. To be found well-qualified as an ICTAP applicant, individuals need to demonstre the ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled as well as more complex duties such as installing, modifying, connecting, inspecting, troubleshooting and/or repairing overhead and underground primary high voltage electrical distribution lines serving a military installion.
Physical Effort
Works aloft on poles, ground level and in ground trenches or manholes requiring moderely heavy physical effort. Required to bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods. Coordinion of eyes, hands, legs and body needed for installing, repairing and testing electrical equipment in confined spaces. Frequently handles tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 20 pounds, sometimes heavier.
Working Conditions
Works outside in close proximity to high voltage line and equipment and is subject to extreme weher conditions. Occasionally performs work inside. Extensive pole climbing required for overhead work; some work is performed in underground facilities. Subject to injury by contact with high voltage lines, broken bones in falls from poles, and strains from awkward positions. Exposed to possibility of electrical shock and burns; when handling tools and merials, exposed to cuts and bruises.
