Salary: $2,488.66 - $2,688.66 /wk

Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) where you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images that support physician diagnosis and patient care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Required registrations: Abdomen and OB/GYN.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • BLS certification. All certifications and registrations must be maintained, active and current.
  • Experience performing general abdominal and OB/GYN ultrasound exams and assisting with special ultrasound procedures, including needle biopsies.
  • Ability to obtain, review and interpret pertinent patient history and clinical data to support diagnostic imaging.
  • Ability to position patients and operate a range of transducers and ultrasound equipment to achieve diagnostic quality images.
  • Experience maintaining radiology records, labeling images for proper identification, and complying with departmental policies and infection control procedures.
  • Preferred: Prior hospital-based ultrasound experience and experience instructing clinical or didactic ultrasound education.

Standard Job Description:

Utilize high frequency sound waves to produce ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. Primary duties include equipment setup, patient preparation and positioning, selection of appropriate transducers, obtaining and reviewing patient history, evaluating image technical quality, labeling and maintaining radiology records, assisting physicians with special procedures and needle biopsies, and providing patient education and support to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain knowledge of departmental and hospital policies, participate in continuing education, and adhere to infection control and confidentiality standards. Provide professional service aligned with departmental values.
