The Langdon Group Project Coordinator

Location: Kaysville and Salt Lake City, Utah

Position Overview : The Langdon Group is a conflict resolution and public involvement consulting firm. Our current work centers on collaborative processes and strategic communications in transportation, public lands, water, organizational development, and infrastructure. We primarily work in the western United States. The range of clients we work with includes federal and state agencies, cities and local municipalities, and private industry. As a wholly owned subsidiary of J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (a regional engineering firm), we support many planning and engineering projects. We are currently looking to fill two (2) Project Coordinator positions in our Kaysville and Salt Lake City, Utah offices. Our purpose at J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. Project Coordinator:

The Project Coordinator position provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career practitioner with a passion for collaborative work, outreach, and public engagement to further develop these skills. This position requires a reliable individual to work within a team environment on a wide variety of strategic communication projects. The position requires an individual of high character who is responsible, self-motivated, hardworking, comfortable with ambiguity, innovative, and who has the initiative to work well on their own and in a team atmosphere. This person must be driven, curious and ambitious. This role provides broad exposure to transportation, water resources, environmental, and infrastructure projects. Coordinators gain experience across multiple disciplines and may develop focused career paths in facilitation, public involvement strategy, water resources, or project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meeting materials and presentation graphics
  • Support public involvement events and logistics
  • Draft and proofread project communications
  • Maintain contact databases and mailing lists
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and scheduling
  • Support proposal preparation and internal coordination
  • This position supports multiple concurrent projects and requires strong time management and accountability in a billable professional services environment
  • This position at times will require reliable onsite attendance for regional projects, including odd hours, evenings, and weekends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, public involvement, business, economics, law, environment and public policy and/or facilitation /mediation or a related field is required with relevant course work.
  • Education, training and/or work experience in a communication-related field; public involvement; environment and public policy; and/or facilitation/mediation.
  • Foundational experience with database management, visual communication, and digital media tools.
  • Demonstrated interest in collaborative problem solving, design thinking, dispute systems design, and process design.
  • Ability to look at a project as a whole and perform basic public involvement tasks with some oversight.
  • Ability to innovate and bring new ideas to the project design process.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and administrative skills.
  • Computer and related software skills (Microsoft Suite, etc.).
  • Video production and social media experience a plus.

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 annually, determined by experience
