Job Title: Events and Operations Specialist Department: External Affairs | Advancement | Development | Events Position Overview This is a regular, part-time position that will be scheduled for 15 hours per week. Reporting to the Operations Specialist for Advancement Events and Operations, the Advancement Events and Operations Specialist plays an important support role within the Advancement Events and Operations team by supporting the department's Managers, Assistant Directors and Director with tasks related to both upcoming events and the department's operations. Additionally, the Advancement Events and Operations Specialist is responsible for a small portfolio of independently managed events and will develop plans, make decisions and implement those events in partnership with engagement and fundraising experts. Also provides on-site assistance for other departmental events as needed. The Advancement Events and Operations Specialist is expected to have strong customer service, organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, and experience working with Microsoft Office. Works with team to determine event needs prior to event execution Packing and unpacking Alumni tour host supplies, and for alumni tour supply inventory. Event materials after event completion. Assist with office efficiencies, such as organizing event and operations materials, goods, or processes. Preparing various supplies for operations projects to ship or for participants to pick up Understands scope and complexity of in-person events. Assist with organizing event and operations data or various projects. 20% Community Partners Work Support the Community Partners team in executing community event outreach by coordinating the preparation and distribution of compelling mailings and invitations that drive engagement and attendance. 10% Shadowing and/or assisting at various events as schedule allows. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an appropriate field. Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
