Performs mammography examinations and related breast special procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.
Responsible for mentoring and training students in a cooperative learning environment.
Prepares patient for examination.
Utilizes correct positioning techniques and recognizes need for special views.
Utilizes special knowledge and skills to produce mammograms of optimal diagnostic quality with minimal radiation exposure to patients.
Utilizes special knowledge and skills to perform Bone Densitometry with precision and accuracy.
Utilizes special knowledge and skills to perform breast special procedures with minimal radiation exposure to patient and maintaining proper sterile technique.
Maintains quality control and quality assurance for mammography according to established standards including monitoring all other mammography technologists’ credentials.
