This position is located in Medina County, Medina, OH.

This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks.

Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.

The 4-H Summer Assistant with Ohio State University Extension, Medina County will be responsible for assisting the 4-H Extension Educator with activities related to the Medina County 4-H Program, with particular focus on the Medina County Jr. Fair exhibition. The employee will work with volunteers, youth, and parents to prepare for the Medina County Jr. Fair exhibition and the judging of 4-H projects. The employee will develop booth displays for the Medina County Fair. The employee will primarily work out of the Medina County Extension Office but will have some tasks and responsibilities which are completed off-site at the Medina County Fairgrounds, in particular during the week of the Medina County Fair and the days before and immediately after. Student Assistants are expected to serve as a positive representation of OSU Extension to the community and abide by the rules & policies of OSU Extension, Medina County, including but not limited to dress code, professionalism, work hours, etc.

Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
