Position Overview
At UES, we are uniquely positioned to exponentially expand our footprint within the Data Center sector, and we are looking for a high-impact strategic driver to get us there!
As the National Growth Leader for Data Centers, you will be the national architect for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities that align with our strategic priorities in environmental consulting, sustainable infrastructure, and geophysical services.
In this role, you will serve as a key individual contributor driving national client acquisition and fostering strategic partnerships across both the Hyperscale and Colocation markets.
We are seeking a high-impact driver who can immediately leverage existing relationships within the Data Center sector to fuel our national expansion. Expertise in Environmental, Geotechnical, CMT, or Building Envelope services is a distinct plus; however, our primary focus is identifying a leader with the industry presence and connectivity to capture national market share.
Responsibilities
Strategic Growth: Develop and execute national plans to expand the Data Center sector, identifying high-value technical opportunities and project leads.
Client Engagement: Establish and maintain deep-seated relationships with key industry stakeholders through direct engagement and presence at major industry conferences.
Technical Advisory: Serve as a high-level resource for data center projects, providing strategic input and subject matter expertise on proposals and bids
Market Intelligence: Track industry trends and market developments to inform both strategic planning and technical execution
Proposal Leadership: Collaborate with national account managers to craft winning proposals, presentations, and client outreach strategies
Operational Excellence: Lead through influence across the organization to ensure technical quality and project milestones are achieved
Process Optimization: Drive the standardization of proposal templates and estimating tools to ensure a consistent, professional national response

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry, including at least 5 years in a technical leadership or project management role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- Experience working in or with engineering consulting firms, specifically within the data center sector.
- Proven experience managing large-scale data center infrastructure projects, including site characterization, materials testing, and construction oversight.
- Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, or building sciences as applied to data center developments.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in engineering modeling software, estimating tools, and project management platforms.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage technical quality assurance for multiple concurrent data center projects.
Preferred Qualifications
A "Day 1" Network: Deep, pre-existing relationships with Data Center Developers, Operators, Hyperscalers, and General Contractors. This is the core requirement for this role.
Strategic Influence: A proven track record of securing national contracts and positioning a firm as a preferred partner for Mission Critical infrastructure.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Consulting, Construction Materials Testing (CMT), or Building Envelope services is helpful, but is not required for a candidate with a dominant industry network.
Travel Requirements
This position requires occasional domestic overnight travel, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring flexibility to work effectively from both a professional office and work site setting.
- On-Site Office Requirements:
- Work is performed at a desk for extended periods using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Regular in-person communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders is required.
- Physical demands may include sitting for long durations, occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 15 pounds
