In this role, you will:

• Security Monitoring & Triage Monitor security alerts and events from multiple sources.
• Triage and prioritize tickets based on severity, impact, and risk.
• Investigate suspicious activity and escalate incidents as needed.
• Threat Detection & Analysis Analyze findings from tools such as Rapid7, Wiz, and Varonis.
• Identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations.
• Correlate data across multiple platforms to determine risk posture.
• Incident Response Support incident response efforts, including containment and remediation.
• Document incidents, findings, and actions taken in accordance with SOC procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security issues.
• SOAR & Automation: Utilize SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) tools to streamline workflows.
• Assist in developing and refining automated playbooks.
• Continuously improve detection and response capabilities through automation.
• Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to security monitoring and detection capabilities.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to process documentation and knowledge sharing within the SOC team.

Who You Are:

• 1-3+ years of experience in a SOC, cybersecurity, or IT security role
• Experience triaging and managing security tickets
• Hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following:
• Rapid7 (InsightIDR, vulnerability management, etc.) Wiz (cloud security posture management)
• Varonis (data security and insider threat detection)
• Familiarity with SIEM and SOAR platforms
• Understanding of common security frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in insurance or financial services environments
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
• Relevant certifications (Security+, CySA+, GCIH, or similar)
