In this role, you will:
- Security Monitoring & Triage Monitor security alerts and events from multiple sources.
- Triage and prioritize tickets based on severity, impact, and risk.
- Investigate suspicious activity and escalate incidents as needed.
- Threat Detection & Analysis Analyze findings from tools such as Rapid7, Wiz, and Varonis.
- Identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations.
- Correlate data across multiple platforms to determine risk posture.
- Incident Response Support incident response efforts, including containment and remediation.
- Document incidents, findings, and actions taken in accordance with SOC procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security issues.
- SOAR & Automation: Utilize SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) tools to streamline workflows.
- Assist in developing and refining automated playbooks.
- Continuously improve detection and response capabilities through automation.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to security monitoring and detection capabilities.
- Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to process documentation and knowledge sharing within the SOC team.
Who You Are:
- 1-3+ years of experience in a SOC, cybersecurity, or IT security role
- Experience triaging and managing security tickets
- Hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following:
- Rapid7 (InsightIDR, vulnerability management, etc.) Wiz (cloud security posture management)
- Varonis (data security and insider threat detection)
- Familiarity with SIEM and SOAR platforms
- Understanding of common security frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance or financial services environments
- Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
- Relevant certifications (Security+, CySA+, GCIH, or similar)
