Reports To: District Manager
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and daily operations of an assigned JB Hawks retail location. This position is accountable for staff development, sales growth, financial performance, customer service excellence, regulatory compliance, and maintaining Company standards.
This is a non-exempt position. Store Managers are generally scheduled to work approximately 45 hours per week, consisting of 40 regular hours and up to 5 overtime hours, based on business needs.

Outgoing personality with strong customer service skills
Self-motivated with the ability to lead by example
Retail sales and supervisory experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, including email communication, document creation, and basic spreadsheet reporting
Ability to effectively use point-of-sale (POS) systems, lottery systems, and retail inventory management systems
Ability to learn and utilize Company software platforms and reporting tools
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Reliable transportation
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
Ability to supervise, train, and perform all duties of the Sales Associate position
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Leadership & Supervision:
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and retain positive and productive employees
Maintain an open-door policy and promote a respectful, team-oriented culture
Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to ensure efficient store operations
Conduct and document employee performance evaluations in a timely manner
Coach and develop team members to encourage growth and promotional opportunities
Schedule employees within Company guidelines to maximize customer service and operational efficiency
Conduct quarterly store meetings covering safety, policy updates, sales initiatives, and Company communications
Ensure compliance with Company policies, safety procedures, and loss prevention standards
Promote workplace safety and ensure employees follow all required safety procedures
Monitor the work environment to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Operations & Store Standards:
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and inventory standards
Conduct regular store walks and follow up on identified issues
Receive and verify vendor deliveries accurately
Monitor and enforce proper cash handling procedures
Complete required reports and operational documentation accurately and timely
Perform daily cigarette and lottery inventory counts for accuracy
Complete required tobacco and cigarette surveys as scheduled
Financial Management:
Analyze daily sales and expense reports and take appropriate action to improve performance
Safeguard and properly account for all Company funds
Monitor register transactions to ensure accurate sales, payments, and recordkeeping
Perform financial analysis necessary to support store profitability
Exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions
Maintain professionalism and composure when addressing employee or customer concerns
Multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
Accurately complete paperwork and administrative responsibilities
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods
Work in varying temperature conditions throughout the year
Continuous use of hands for grasping, reaching, and handling merchandise
Climb ladders as needed
Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Operate point-of-sale registers, lottery systems, credit card machines, security systems, and related retail equipment
Maintain store property and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient shopping experience
Store Managers are generally scheduled to work approximately 45 hours per week, consisting of 40 regular hours and up to five (5) overtime hours.
Store Managers are authorized to work up to five (5) hours of overtime per week without prior approval. Any overtime beyond five (5) hours per week must receive advance approval from the District Manager.
Overtime compensation will be paid in accordance with applicable federal and state wage and hour laws.
Work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
