Wolcott Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team in Wolcott, CT. As a Veterinary Technician at our full-service veterinary medical facility, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of professionals who are committed to providing exceptional wellness care, surgery, diagnostics, dentistry, and pharmacy services for pets in Wolcott and surrounding communities. We are a 4 doctor, privately owned practice with a strong focus on teamwork and communication. We are open 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday and 8am-1pm on Saturdays. Applicants will be required to work 10 hours shifts and alternating weekends. Salary negotiable based on experience. 

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
• Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
• Perform IV catheterization and phlebotomy
• Provide preventive care for pets
• Preparation and administration of oral and injectable medications
• Radiograph positioning and techniques
• Use and care of laboratory equipment including CBC, chemistry and urinalysis equipment

Required Skills:

• Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician
• Experience in anesthesia monitoring
• Strong knowledge of preventive care and emergency care procedures
• Ability to provide compassionate animal care
• Strong communication skills and active listening
• Ability to prioritize reesponsibilities, multi task, and manage time efficiently
