Press Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating stamping presses ranging from 400 to 4,000 tons. You will work on either the 1st Shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, or the 2nd Shift from 4:30 pm to 5:00 am, Monday to Thursday, with overtime available after your shift or on Friday. Responsibilities Operate and set up stamping presses to meet customer specifications. Feed metal into presses and ensure accurate stamping according to blueprints and work instructions. Utilize calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect parts. Perform manual and automated stamping press operations. Complete required paperwork accurately and efficiently. Rotate to different work areas based on production needs. Load steel coils into the press and align with tooling. Maximize uptime by setting and running presses within standard times. Communicate die repairs to die shop personnel. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment. Ensure compliance with safety standards and perform preventative maintenance. Report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to the supervisor. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in press operation. Experience operating stamping press machinery. Ability to interpret blueprints and work instructions. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with blueprint reading, lathe, troubleshooting, punch press, press brake, micrometer, grinder, and die setting. Work Environment This position is based in a steel manufacturing facility, which is loud and requires hearing protection. The environment is not temperature controlled and involves working with large equipment. The facility consists of three buildings and serves as the headquarters, focusing heavily on the automotive industry. Candidates will work in the area where all press machines are located, dealing with massive presses used for stamping automotive parts. Located in Warren, Ohio, our facilities process coated, cold rolled, and hot rolled steel, providing state-of-the-art stamping and blanking services. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Warren, OH.
