Job Summary We are currently seeking a Regulatory Administrator . This position is located in West Jefferson, OH ., and will report to the Compliance Manager at the Battelle Biomedical Research Center (BBRC). Assists with the coordination of the activities of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) Committee, Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and Battelle Biosafety Committee (BSC). Sets-up, participates in, generates meeting minutes for full committee reviews, quarterly meetings, and semi-annual inspections and program reviews. As part of animal care operations, maintains IACUC-approved animal research protocols, including documentation of IACUC approvals, any protocol amendments and related approval notifications. Maintains most recent IACUC semiannual program review and Facility inspection reports covering all relevant facilities/laboratories. Ensures that contractor staff engaged in animal care operations have required certification or training and keep their qualifications current. Monitors and coordinates annual and continuing IACUC training. Participates in all applicable IACUC regulatory or oversight entity activities by preparing for the inspections and accompanying the visit(s). Responds to inquiries from these entities, to note where maintenance is required, and to quickly coordinate any immediate deficiencies that the inspection team has identified for immediate action. Supports department managers in administrative tasks. Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in life/physical science with three years of work experience. Must possess the ability to communicate with all levels of staff in an accurate, concise, and helpful manner. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and management skills with proficient use of computers, especially the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Must have strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, leadership, motivational, and negotiating skills, professional demeanor, customer service orientation, and ability to overcome adversarial interactions in a firm but diplomatic manner. Must be able to work productively with minimal supervision. Must be detail oriented and have superb organizational skills including priority setting, time management, planning and follow-up, and attention to detail. Must be able to follow the guidelines, policies and procedures and to facilitate compliance of others with these rules. Must be willing to submit to a security investigation, meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and obtain both DoD and DoJ security clearances within one year of employment. Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance. Ability to obtain/maintain DoJ Security Risk Assessment (SRA) approval. Ability to obtain/maintain CDC approval to work with BSAT material. Must be willing to work in a biosafety level 2 (BSL2) and/or 3 (BSL3) (biocontainment) environment and able to wear appropriate respiratory protection. Must be willing to be immunized with FDA licensed vaccines and Investigational New Drugs (IND) recommended for persons at risk to occupational exposure of biological agents Must be willing to participate in random drug screening Preferred Qualifications IACUC related experience Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA), AALAS Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) certification, or certification eligible Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to the use of animals used in research is preferred.
