Education & Professional Experience Required:
High School Diploma
Associates or bachelors degree (preferred)
VTS / LVT / RVT certification (required, or can be reinstated within the first ninety days)
3+ years of customer service
2+ years of clinical veterinary experience

Proficiency with technology, iOS and EzyVet specifically
Role & Responsibilities:
Client communication / education and relationship development, including phone / text, electronic (email) and in-person communications
Patient care, including proficiency with safe and reliable restraint
Advanced medical mathematics
Proficiency with routine technical procedures including but not limited to venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy administration (including calculation of rates of flow) and proficiency with the induction, maintenance and monitoring of patients under sedation and general anesthesia
Supporting activities related to appointments including but not limited to obtaining histories, TPRs / weights, assisting with medical records, and completing standard appointment procedures (i.e. vaccines, nail trims, ear cleanings, etc.)
Supporting activities related to hospital admissions including but not limited to verifying consent forms, patient information, medications, fasting status, and initiating activities related appointment purpose (i.e. blood glucose curves)
Supporting activities related to the administration and management of controlled substances, ensuring DEA compliance
Supporting activities related to therapeutic procedures (setting up, assisting, and cleaning up once complete), completing diagnostics (including laboratory and radiology imaging studies), and supporting surgical and dental procedures (see below) including patient recovery
Knowledge of routine surgical procedures including but not limited to spays, neuters, mass removals, and dental prophylaxis
Proficiency with cleaning and sterilizing equipment
Support practices related to inventory management
Participate in activities contributing to maintaining a clean environment
Support in the development and training of other technicians and veterinary assistants with various procedures and techniques
Support annual compliance training programs, including radiation safety

Schedule:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering either five, eight hour shifts or four ten hour shifts. While the schedule is expected to be consistent, changes may be necessary to meet the needs of a growing hospital. The following holidays are observed: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
