Lead Mechanic – British and Classic Car Specialist (Full-Time, Monday–Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)


Pay: $40–$45 per hour (based on experience)

 

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanic / Automotive Technician specializing in British and classic cars to join our established shop. This is a full-time position with a business that has been operating since 1959 and is known for high-quality classic car restoration and repair.

 

Position Overview
The ideal candidate is a skilled classic car mechanic with extensive hands-on experience working on vintage and British vehicles. You must be able to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles independently while delivering high-quality workmanship.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on British and classic vehicles
  • Perform engine rebuilds, transmission replacements, and clutch repairs
  • Repair and maintain braking systems, radiators, and cooling systems
  • Service carburetors, alternators, generators, and ignition systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
  • Perform full vehicle maintenance and restoration work
  • Read and apply technical manuals and service documentation
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle issues and repairs

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • 5 to 10+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or classic car technician
  • Proven experience working on British cars and classic vehicles from 1949 to present
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Deep understanding of vintage vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to understand technical terminology and customer descriptions

 

Vehicles We Service
MGB, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Aston Martin, Mini, Bentley, Lotus, Jaguar, Land Rover, Morgan, Morris Minor, and occasional Rolls-Royce. Experience with other classic or specialty vehicles is a plus.

  • Must be honest, reliable, and customer-focused
  • Drug-free workplace (no smoking, drugs, or alcohol on the job)
  • These vehicles are collector cars and must be handled with care and precision
