Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement of ferrous and non- ferrous scrap materials with a focus on increasing margin, volume, and overall market share.
  • Expand market presence by proactively identifying, targeting, and securing new commercial, industrial, and dealer accounts.
  • Purchase scrap metals in alignment with current market trends and within pricing guidelines established by the General Manager and National Sales team.
  • Conduct routine supplier visits and sales outreach to build stronger relationships and stay informed on business needs and market shifts.
  • Maintain up ? to ? date knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations to ensure compliant purchasing and processing of scrap materials.
  • Provide exceptional, ethical customer service and sales engagement to encourage repeat business and long ? term partnerships.
  • Contribute to setting individual and regional goals related to purchasing, marketing strategies, and profitability.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of purchasing activities, sourcing efforts, lead development, and follow ? up interactions.
  • Collaborate with facility General Managers to inspect incoming scrap materials and verify adherence to specifications, volume expectations, and pricing targets.

Required Qualifications/Experience:
  • Associate's degree, Bachelors preferred, related to Sales, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field OR 4 years Buyer (Account Management) experience in the scrap metals recycling industry.
  • Strong contract negotiation and interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated buying/selling skills and product knowledge.
  • Ability to generate and qualify leads and close deals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs. SAI or similar software experience a plus.
