Plano Animal Hospital is seeking a technically strong veterinary professional who is ready to step into a leadership role and help build a growing companion animal hospital in Plano, Texas.
This is an ideal opportunity for a lead technician, experienced veterinary technician, emerging leader, or leader with a passion for growing businesses who thrives on the clinical floor, understands patient flow, and is strong with team leadership and hospital operations.
Working closely with the Medical Director, this role blends hands-on technical support, team leadership, and operational ownership to create an efficient, high-quality patient and client experience.
What You Will Own Clinical & Technical Leadership- Serve as a hands-on leader on the floor, supporting technicians and assistants in real time
- Help drive efficient patient flow, ensuring appointments stay on track and teams are supported
- Assist with training and development of technical staff, including skills coaching and workflow execution
- Partner closely with DVMs to ensure high-quality patient care and strong communication across the team
- Step in where needed clinically to support the team during busy or complex cases
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of CSR and technician team members
- Provide day-to-day coaching, feedback, and accountability
- Help build a positive, team-first culture focused on collaboration and growth
- Lead by example with professionalism, work ethic, and communication
- Help build and refine workflows that improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
- Manage daily staffing flow, scheduling support, and shift execution
- Address client concerns and support service recovery when needed
- Identify opportunities to improve how the hospital functions day-to-day
- Support key hospital metrics (revenue, payroll, inventory, ACT)
- Partner with leadership on monthly performance and action planning
- Support marketing and client growth efforts as the hospital scales
- Support OSHA and regulatory compliance standards
- Assist with equipment, inventory, and vendor coordination
- Help ensure medical record quality and hospital protocols are followed
- 3+ years experience in a veterinary hospital
- Strong technical/clinical skills and confidence on the floor
- Experience supporting or leading team members
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT)
- Lead Technician or shift lead experience, at a minimum
- Exposure to scheduling, workflow management, or team coordination
Salary: Starting at $65,000 annually, compensation based on leadership experience, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.

This is not a desk-based management role.
