Your Impact at SAMAs a Survey Technician, you will support both office and field teams by processing survey data and producing high-quality deliverables for a variety of land surveying projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will perform technical tasks using industry-leading technology while helping ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client requirements.
This role will support large renewable energy, data centers, and electric utility projects, including ALTA surveys, and will require familiarity with survey project workflows, data management, and GIS-related deliverables
Key Responsibilities
- Process and analyze survey data in accordance with SAM standards, evaluating accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and industry best practices
- Assist with large-scale renewable and electric utility survey projects, including ALTA survey deliverables
- Monitor field crew production and support quality assurance efforts to maintain project accuracy and efficiency
- Perform initial quality control (QC) reviews of field data and survey deliverables before final submission
- Support multiple phases of survey preparation, including data organization, drafting support, and project setup
- Work with GIS-related datasets, including attributes, shapefiles, and compliance data, ensuring alignment with project and client standards
- Coordinate with supervisors and project teams to ensure client-specific deliverables and RFP requirements are met
- Contribute to maintaining project schedules, data organization, and overall project documentation
What You Bring to SAM
- Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D for survey data processing, drafting, and production of deliverables
- Understanding of land surveying principles, workflows, and survey data processing standards
- Experience reviewing field data and supporting quality control of survey deliverables
- Ability to work with multiple project phases including preparation, data organization, and final deliverable production
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects or deadlines simultaneously
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with field crews, project managers, and internal teams
Preferred
- Familiarity with GIS software and datasets, including working with attributes, shapefiles, and GIS compliance data
- Experience supporting ALTA surveys or large infrastructure, renewable energy, or electric utility projects
- Experience interpreting client RFP requirements and preparing deliverables to meet client specifications
